J.P. was filming and Simmy was, once again, finding interesting movie props.
At the jewelry counter 'Gentleman Jim' reached for the bag of pearl necklaces and handed them to Simmy. With a quick glance, Simmy could see that the necklaces would need restringing but it seemed like most of the beads were there.
'Gentleman Jim' opened the bag and proceeded to shake the small treasures onto the glass counter. Beads bounced and both Simmy and Penelope tried to keep them on the counter.
'Gentleman Jim' looked at Simmy and said, "They're broken. You don't have to pay for these. You can have them for free."
"Thank You!" Simmy smiled at 'Gentleman Jim' and told Penelope she was going to browse at the back of the store. To get there, she first circled around the front of the store. She spotted some small shoes and exclaimed, "Pirates of Penzance shoes."
Penelope, from the costume department came over and said, "Yes! They are!"
"If they're 50 cents, I'll buy them."
Penelope turned over the shoes and looked at Simmy. "You said you'd buy them," with a twinkling grin.
This was fun! Simmy shimmied to the back of the store and spotted a wine rack.
She remarked on the wine rack and in stepped Jims' competition for the 'big sale of the day.' John was ready.
"It holds 30 bottles of wine."
"Does it?" Simmy smiled. She walked over to it and examined the metal strapping. "It feels sharp. It looks a bit rugged."
John came over and said, "This wine rack is for serious wine collectors. It's not a pretty piece that you display."
With all the double meanings being spoken, Simmy felt sure she was supposed to buy the wine rack.
As she paid for her purchases, a wine rack and an old evening bag, she spotted some penmanship booklets from the the early 1900's.
"Hey Penelope, let's rename 'Pirates of Penzance' and call it the 'One-two Pirates of Penzaner!'"
"Does anybody understand your brain?" Penelope asked.
"Come on!" Simmy posed as arena announcer... "John Sullivan, Boston Strong Boy, gets beat up by 'Gentleman Jim,' as James wins with a 'pearls giveaway.' What's next for this young man? Acting?"
"You're crazy," Penelope laughed.
"You mean, inzane," Simmy quipped.
