Chapter 73 (cont'd)
Just as Simmy typed the sweet memory of Autumnal innocence, Sam came in the back door singing... "do, do, do- do, do do do do do do," and Simmy heard the bass guitar, the chords of fame imprinted on her childs' memory. "There's a bad moon on the rise... don't go out tonight..."
Times of innocence, how they turn to times of guardedness.
Sam sang the song in his own mondegreen style...
"'There's a bathroom on the right,' isn't right, Sam."
Sam kept singing his own tune.
"You get that Harry Chapin song wrong too... you know how you used to laugh at me for singing... 'little boy blue and the man in the moon...'
"No, it's 'little boy grew like a man on the move!" Sam reiterated strongly.
"People are going to start calling us King and Queen of mondegreen."
