Chapter 69
It was 'coffee time' at the 'Riverwood Church.'
A young man squeezed past Simmy, in the row she was seated in, after she asked if he'd like to get up for another coffee.
As he got up, awkwardly fumbling past, he said, "It's like we're on the side of a cliff here!"
Simmy chuckled good-naturedly.
U2 was piped in, 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for.' Blackberry-s were consulted and coffees were poured.
The topic was 'Shattered Dreams' and Simmy had known it wasn't going to be a mamby -pamby oration. Today, she and Sam had showed up anyway!
In a nutshell, 'it's going to be hard... the whole way... to reach that dream!' Well, it was great to hear the truth... just not so great to hear the truth... one of those palindromic re-assurances.
P.T.'s sermon reminded Simmy of the book 'Hinds' Feet on High Places.'
'I guess the young man sitting next to me is just going to have to get his hinds' feet.' Simmy grinned. As Simmy listened, she didn't have many notes to take today.
She found it interesting that the 'Barista story' got the strongest reaction from her row of 'Blackberry Bandits.'
They arrived home to find their grown children working on a 'sweet mama birthday.'
Diligently, one prepared racks of ribs, another had laboured over a sweet birthday cake... homemade goodness. Simmy had never had any birthday cakes as a child and this one melted her heart. The phone rang... hot lasagnas were on their way from another child.
Today was a 22 year and 6 month proverbial dream come true... "What you model, they will follow!"
Simmy opened her gifts...
a framed declaration...
a GPS...
and a fragrant promise...
Sigh, just beautiful!
Simmy had suffered much in life... but today, she was allowed to reap from some hard work and sacrifices of her heart and time and choices.
"Their needs first," she thought, and then, "mine."
The blessings of priority and the mathematical multiplication of the compound interest of love.
Formula:
Constant e-you have to be constant
Irrational?- putting others first might be
Transcendental- absolutely...
DO the math...
