Chapter 102
Diamonds are forever... Simmy 'googled' the lyrics for that famous James Bond song. Then she found Shirley Bassey singing it. A very deep- throat guttural version, performed well for the lyrics.
But... Ohh... well, how many times do we sing a song and not listen to the words?
Sunday would be a big day of handing out gifts! Simmy recalled how one of her mentors had once said, "Ask for new gifts!"
Simmy had responded with, "Can you do that?"
Her sweet school teacher mentor had said, "I don't know. Just ask!"
It turned out to be a wonderful spiritual question that Simmy realized not many people asked.
But then, at the 'On West' occasion, Mirtha's friend had floated out of the church saying, "Oh, it's so wonderful! We're all getting new gifts!"
Everyone in the audience received new gifts that day too, not just the dunkers... but each person whose hearts was ready for them.
And so, if ever you wonder about diamonds and promises and gifts...
The diamond is a gift as a reminder of the promise.
Simmy looked at the diamonds her friend had given her. At first she had just scattered them on the carpet but then the idea came to her that, if you arranged them, they could be even more useful.
