Eloquent Elegant Denouement

Chapter 81 (cont'd)
Deborah and Simmy took a little shopping trip in the afternoon.
A collection of rings were purchased and a 6 year old princess became the model for the bling.
She was a sweet, happy, sensitive model who tried on rings in sweet abandon and this hand model then took control and asked for the camera and told Simmy to pose.
It was one of those beautiful moments that 'girls' share... Sigh! Lovely!
Just past dinnertime, the phone rang... it was Sams' sister.
"Hello, Okay... Mom is going to go into a seniors' home as soon as they can get a spot for her..."
Simmy could hear almost every word through the telephone even though she was across the room and the phone was up against Sams' ear.
She nodded every time she heard a 'agreeable' statement.
"Dad is going to have to pay $30 dollars a day until they can find her a home."
Sam nodded but didn't say anything to that.
"He'll have to get a smaller apartment as soon as possible..."
Simmy started to feel the weight of all these years of being in this family slowly drain from her shoulders. When Sam hung up, he reiterated the $30 per day story...
"I've never heard of such a thing in our medicare system but your sister did say it was a panel of five professionals that listened to the story and they must 'know the rules.' Maybe this is your Dads' consequence for the sin he just wouldn't give up. He just thought he'd always get away with hitting her. It'll take that little bit of money he's got left, that he would never share with his family. I'm just glad this whole sordid thing is over. He can't wield his ugly fist toward her anymore.
Finally, some poetic justice!"
Sam quietly wept.
"At least the denouement has been much more elegant than the factual actual marriage. It just does no good trying to dress up the facts."
