Amour for Lamoureux

Chapter 84
Subtitle- 'Tub chair jingle'
Sam skipped in the door, happy to be on a week of holidays.
"Why is your picture sideways?" He was staring at Simmy's blog.
"I'm leaving it this way so 'google' takes note and puts a 'rotate' bar on their blog options. I have had some  trouble using their 'free picnik' tools. Somewhere between 'picnik' and 'picasa' things are not meshing so I'm stuck in this 'can't load the picture right' scenario. And... where is the option to delete photos from the blog album?"
Sam stripped off his coveralls.
"So, what's the puzzle today?"
"Oh, today is a huge complicated simplicity."
"I can see people won't get it again," Sam mocked.
"Hey, give it a chance. You don't know if people get my puzzles or not... anyway, I'll talk you through the process."
Sam sat down on the denim couch in his skivvies. (Shh! Don't tell him I told you that.)
I woke up thinking about the picture I posted yesterday and the Simon & Garfunkel song 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' came to my mind. So, I listened to their song on 'youtube' and 'Sound of Silence' was in that same repertoire."
"And?" Sam patiently waited, in hedgehog pose.
"Then I investigated further... you know how there are often many meanings to every song or even, every  story. I was really hoping for a 'straight from Art Simon' exclusive."
"Did you find anything?" Sam asked.
"Yes! NPR music did an interview with the 'duo of Jingles' on June 12, 2004. Guess what, Simon wrote 'Sound of Silence' in a bathroom in Queens with the water running- an atmosphere that he liked."
"And?" Sam prodded.
"He was listening to a lot of gospel music, particularly the 'Swan Silvertones' in 1969. He'd been strumming little bits of jingles and he said that he just started playing the song- out of nowhere- it was a gift!"
Sam was getting frustrated with the long story.
"Is that what you were listening to just now, that 40's/ 50's Swing?"
"Yes, it's called 'Practice What you Preach!' I think I'll put that in the dance in the movie scene."
"What is the next scene of the movie?"
"The election! I'm using this 'Chatelaine July 1961' article for my jump-off point."
Sam looked at the article.
"I know who we're voting for... it will be interesting to see who wins."
"I think the name of the song for whoever wins should be 'Citizen of the Planet' by Simon & Garfunkel.
'I am entitled by my birth
We are entitled by our birth
To the treasures of the earth
No one must be denied these
No one must be denied
Easy dreams...'
This song dedicated to Kevin Lamoureux...
for the win!
Bring some 'amour' to the world!
Love,
