From Lucie to Lucy
Scene 27- Take 1- The 'yud' teapot
The year is 1939...
Dearest Lucy,
I hope this postcard will find you are well. When I arrived in London, I happened upon a shop called 'The Little Gallery,' at 5 Ellis Street, which was owned by Muriel Rose. It was closing its' doors as so many places are doing these days. It was a little potters' shop and I found a beautiful little teapot with creamer and sugar. The textured pattern reminded me of you, my textured love. It was in this shop that I met Lucie Rie with whom Erwin Schrodinger has taken accommodations.
Now, I have already met with this Austrian physicist numerous times and I know these are not happen-chance meetings but instead, divined.
I am sending my words on a post card as the postal censorship has begun and I find myself offended at the thought of someone tearing open my letter to scour it for subterfuge.
Yours Sincerely,
Richard
